SAP Business One for AI agents - securely connected

RC.MCP exposes the SAP Service Layer as secured tools for AI clients - with OAuth 2.1, cryptographic license management and a complete audit log.

The problem: AI assistants need a controlled path into the ERP

AI assistants and automations can be enormously productive - but only if they access SAP Business One securely. Direct, uncontrolled database or Service Layer access is not an option in an ERP.

Uncontrolled access: An AI client with full access to ERP data is a security and data protection risk.

Accidental postings: A language model allowed to post directly can create documents unintentionally.

No traceability: Without a log there is no way to prove which action was triggered by which client.

No graduated permissions: By default there is no way to limit AI access to individual functional areas.

What RC.MCP delivers

RC.MCP is the licensed, secured way to connect AI clients to SAP Business One - the Service Layer as controlled tools instead of open access.

Service Layer as AI tools

More than 50 clearly scoped tools for master data, sales and purchasing documents, inventory, financials, production and workflows - callable from any AI client.

Prepare/commit safety

Write tools are two-step: first a preview with a confirmation token, then the posting. No posting without explicit confirmation.

Cryptographic license management

Ed25519-signed licenses enable tools feature by feature. The server verifies the license offline against the connected B1 installation.

OAuth 2.1 and audit log

Every client authenticates via OAuth 2.1 with short-lived tokens. Every action is logged in an audit-proof way.

For any MCP client

Compatible with Claude, Activepieces, Amber and other clients that support the Model Context Protocol - interactive or as automation.

HANA and SQL Server

RC.MCP works through the SAP Service Layer and supports SAP Business One 10.0 on HANA as well as SQL Server - without additional SAP licenses.

Self-hosted or managed

RC.MCP ships as a Docker image. You decide where it runs.

Self-hosted

Run it on your own network, ideally close to the SAP Business One server. Full data sovereignty, setup via Docker Compose. License and updates come from RConsult.

Managed by RConsult

RConsult runs RC.MCP in its own data center - including TLS, monitoring, backups and applying updates. You use the service, we take care of operations.

Frequently asked questions

What is an MCP server?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol - an open standard through which AI assistants talk to external systems. RC.MCP is such a server for SAP Business One: it exposes the SAP Service Layer as clearly defined, individually licensable tools that an AI client like Claude can call.
Is access secure?
Yes. RC.MCP authenticates every client via OAuth 2.1 and short-lived tokens. Write operations run through a prepare/commit procedure: the AI first receives a preview with a confirmation token, and posting only happens after explicit confirmation. Every action is recorded in the audit log. Which tools are available at all is controlled by the license, feature by feature.
Which SAP Business One versions are supported?
RC.MCP works through the SAP Service Layer and supports SAP Business One 10.0 on HANA and SQL Server. No additional SAP licenses are required.
What counts as a concurrent session?
A session corresponds to one connected MCP client. A central automation service counts as a single session, regardless of how many users sit behind it. If, on the other hand, several employees each run their own client installation, every one of them is a separate session. What matters is the concurrent peak.
Which AI clients can I connect?
Any client that supports the Model Context Protocol - for example Claude, Activepieces or Amber. RC.MCP uses the streamable HTTP transport and is therefore suitable for interactive assistants as well as automation workflows.
Self-hosted or managed - what is the difference?
RC.MCP is a Docker image. You can run it yourself, ideally on the same network as your SAP Business One server, or book managed operation by RConsult - including TLS, monitoring, backups and applying updates.
How do the purchase and rental licenses differ?
The purchase license is bought once, plus 21% maintenance per year. The rental license is billed annually in advance, maintenance and updates are included, and the minimum term is 12 months. Both variants apply per SAP Business One installation and include all company databases.
Can the AI post something by accident?
No. Write tools are always two-step: the first call returns only a preview with a single-use confirmation token, the second call performs the posting. Without that explicit second step, no document is created.
What does the setup include?
The one-time setup (flat fee EUR 1,250) covers installation of the MCP server, connection to the Service Layer, configuration of the identity query and the OAuth clients, and an onboarding session. On request we take over the complete managed operation.
