Which SAP functions can the AI Assistant handle?
The assistant can search business partners, documents, and items, create quotations and orders, check stock, query open items, and generate reports. It connects directly to the SAP Service Layer API - over 200 endpoints are wired up.
Is my data safe?
The assistant accesses your system via the SAP Service Layer API - it only sees the data you ask for, not your entire database. For language processing you can choose between different AI providers: cloud-based (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI) or fully self-hosted (e.g. Ollama with local models). With the self-hosted option your data does not leave your network. With cloud providers, only the actual requests and results are transmitted - not your entire database.
Do I need SAP HANA for this?
No. The AI Assistant works with SAP Business One on both HANA and MS SQL Server. The only requirement is an active Service Layer.
How is the assistant installed?
As a browser extension (Chrome/Edge) for the SAP Business One WebClient - one click, no server installation needed. For Telegram we set up the bot in a few minutes.
What does the AI Assistant cost?
Pricing depends on the number of users and the desired feature scope. In a strategy call we discuss your requirements and prepare an individual quote.
Can the AI Assistant also create documents from PDF files?
Yes. You can drag and drop PDF invoices, Excel lists, or CSV files to the assistant. It extracts the relevant data and creates the document in SAP.
Which AI models are supported?
Anthropic Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT, or self-hosted models via Ollama. You decide whether requests are processed in the cloud or stay entirely local.
What can AI concretely do for my company in an ERP system?
In the case of our AI Assistant: create documents using natural language, query master data, check open items, run reports - without clicking through menus. This saves time on routine tasks and makes SAP functions accessible even to employees who do not work deeply in the system.
Is AI in ERP mature or still experimental?
AI in ERP is no longer an experiment, but it is not a magic bullet either. Our AI Assistant reliably handles concrete, well-defined tasks (creating documents, querying data). It does not replace a consultant and does not make autonomous decisions - it makes routine tasks faster.
Do I need clean data before I can use AI in the ERP?
Not necessarily for our AI Assistant. It works with the data in your SAP - it returns what the Service Layer delivers. If your master data has gaps, that will show in the responses too. But you do not need a data cleanup project before getting started.
Will SAP Business One get its own AI features?
SAP is investing in AI with Joule, but the focus is on S/4HANA and the Business Technology Platform. There are currently no announced native AI features for SAP Business One. Our AI Assistant fills this gap - via the Service Layer API, independent of SAP's AI roadmap.
